    1. I received a copy of the epub from the group Read It & Reap in exchange for an honest review.Cristina escapes a life of confinement and abuse by her dysfunctional family. On the run she encounters Paxton. Both are damaged and are drawn to each other but Cristina’s past does not allow her to trust. Their journey is unconventional with many unforeseen twists and turns.First is a Young Adult/New Adult novel with good bones but would benefit from professional editing. The story is told from t [...]

    2. Recieved by the author for an honest review. Firsts had a good storyline, but the abrupt change in POV's made it slightly confusing at times. Pax was a great hero, and Cristina/ Carry/ (i won't tell her real name) was a sweet girl with a very tragic, heartbreaking history. There was a lot going on in this book, almost too much. Especially the confrontation that lead to an even more shocking revelation. It was just too much. Thankfully we got the HEA. I would have given this more stars if there w [...]

    3. Firsts is about a young girl named Carmen who was treated like a prisoner in her home. Carmen reminds me of a fairy tale character we have grown up with named Cinderella. She was treated much worse than Cinderella was by her step sisters and step mother. Carmen grew up never knowing her mother and lived with her brothers and father who were abusive to her. Like Cinderella she had to cook, clean and do whatever she was commanded to do by her family. She knew she needed to get out of the house awa [...]

    4. A must read, its heart-breaking, emotional, leaves you with pain but sweet pain. I loved it.Firsts is all about a young girl (name?? I will give u clue her name starts by C) who is alive but not living, not as a exact way a girl should live, her life is dark the way anyone cannot even imagine, with no hope of light and only shame and violence since forever. she want to change it but she don't know if she can change it, she tried it once but things got even worst. Living with people whom I would [...]

    5. I'm used to reading books that have the same basic and unoriginal plot. I was pleasantly surprised that this couldn't be said for "Frists". This story was completely original and I loved it. When you read this book, you become emotionally invested into the characters, especially Carmen. I wanted to help Carmen so bad throughout the novel when she was dealing with her abusive family, and struggling to act "normal". I thought Carmen's POV and personal thoughts were refreshing. For example, when Ca [...]

    6. I liked this book very much, even though the story was very heartbreaking till the end.I really don't wish that any girl in this big world would go through the hardship like the charakter in the book did. I felt very sad for the girl. She was so afraid of people, she even had to hide her true name. :( . the world wasn't being easy on her, she had a very bad chidhood and was tormented by her Father and Brothers, those how where supposed to protect her from harm, where the one who make her suffer [...]

    7. This was a sensitive story about the life of a girl who spent her whole childhood being a victim of her families abuse. When she finally escapes from their captivity life becomes new to her. She experiences things that we all take for granted for the first time. This is a moving emotional journey to the transformation of a young lady who is finally able to be the person she wants. The path that she takes along the way is filled with lots of unexpected drama. The ending is not something that I wa [...]

    8. This book started off very dark. Honestly, it was a little too dark for me and I almost wanted to put it down, but I decided to give it a bit longer. Obviously, it being this way helps you bond with the main female character. The storyline brightened up a bit and there was all the sudden hope for our main character. There is an unexpected plot twist at the end I didn't see coming. I won't say the girl's name you'll see why when you read it. Paxton's character is so sweet. He's sort of the reform [...]

    9. I received this book in return for my honest review OK - so this book was just ok! It has a very difficult beginning (difficult in the subject matter not the writing) It gets better, ends well (I say well, because I feel it is rushed!) The characters are good, the story is all right and the overall flow works. I am not sure if this book was in a different language and then translated or what, but there were a ton of grammatical and wrong word choices in here. Kinda took away from the overall eas [...]
