    1. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Caterina's passion for her art was wonderfully portrayed, but the hero, Chase, made the book. Like most young women of the time, Caterina had been sheltered from the realities of life. Ignorant of how her family survives, she grows and matures nicely. An excellent read.

I don't usually go backwards to read a previous book but in this case I am going to read the previous one, A Scandalous Mistress.Caterina Chester finds her brother has taken her Aunt's carriage and horses, that were on loan to her, and lost them in a wager along with twenty guineas. Sir Chase Boston has no intention of letting her brother Harry off the hook but since he left town he has come to collect from her father. He has returned the carriage and horses and expects to be paid for them as we [...]

    4. If my library had the same description as , I wouldn't have decided to read the book to begin with. I really dislike this trope, and didn't make it beyond the first few pages.

    5. Landon writes skillfully and accurately (which I cannot say for all regency writers) even if her story is not particularly memorable.
