    1. **3.75 stars**Readers, my advice to you is push yourself through the first chapter or two of this book. I really disliked this one when I started reading it. The style and word choices are very simplistic and almost amateurish feeling, which totally put me off in the beginning. Also, the set-up seemed like a bad soap opera. I kind of just wanted to put this one down. However, in the back of my mind I reminded myself that so so many of my friends loved this one, so I decided to persevere. I'm rea [...]

    2. 4.25 starsOh what a hornets nest this was, the MC's were frustrating, jealous idiots and deserved a kick or two. A complicated love triangle which was bound to cause misery, tears and misunderstandings. It did that and more definitely heart pumping, thoughts of violence and stressful *are you for real* moments. Eric was a snake in the grass and was up to no good, Jason soon fixed him up, finally. Riley was a fool what happened to using some common sense? I loved how it played out so beautifully [...]

    3. This was almost a perfect read for me.The characters were all I could hope for.Jason I fell instantly in love with, Riley I loved but at times I wanted to shake him, and Eric who I still despise. This story hit all my buttons with the love, jealousy and misunderstandings. The writing was well paced and I loved that there was no quick fix, but a realistic time period, although that was the only time I wanted to smack Jason. (view spoiler)[My only complaint would be that Eric never suffered enough [...]

    4. OMG! This book is all kinds of fucked up! I'm not saying that's necessarily a bad thing either.  This is one of those messed up love triangles: Riley who is currently involved in a relationship with Jason, but then Eric comes back into the picture.  Eric is Riley's former lover and Jason's brother!  Riley has been in love with and hung up on Eric for YEARS, so Jason's forces Riley to "date" Eric to clear all those unresolved feelings Riley has for Ericd figure out who he really loves. Fuck [...]

    5. Excellent first book. I could not put this down. Fell in love with the main and supporting characters. I didn't even see the twist coming, and I am usually hard to fool. I hope Eric is talking inside Carter's head and doesn't shut up until Carter writes Eric's story!! Can't wait for more from this very promising author.

    6. The story started quite good but went downhill fast, so unfortunately, I can't give it more than 2 stars. I simply didn't buy any of it. The characters behave like immature 15-year-olds, and the HEA comes out of nowhere and is absolutely not realistic or believable. If you want to read a story where the MC is a major asshole, this is the book for you.(view spoiler)[Poor Jason; that's really all I feel after finishing the book. He deserves someone so much better than Riley. Riley's a cheater and [...]

    7. Very good m/m romance about a guy hung up on the one who dumped him and got married to a woman. Years later, he's finally letting another guy in emotionally when guess who shows up, all repentant?

    8. 2.5 starsThis book showed promise, sadly by the end i didn't really give a fuck.Eric was a shallow slut that didn't give a fuck about his brother happiness, he knew Jason loved Riley since forever and he knew they were dating when he called, and he still called, and when he told his poor sad story, like I fucked everything with a dick (all this while cheating on his wife)but I always loved you, yeah, riiight, and then when his pride his hurt by Riley calling Jason's name he takes all back and go [...]

    9. This was a really good story which was both sweet and angsty. After initially reading the blurb for this book, I wasn't really sure I wanted to read it, however, I am so glad I did. There were times that I was so frustrated with these characters that I wished I could just slap them upside the head for being stupid and other parts of the book that kept me on the edge, not wanting to read because of what I knew was coming, but unable to put the book down.

    10. Really a 4.5 stars but I'll round up because it made my chest ache and I shed a few tears. I loved everything about this book. The story was fabulous, I felt the emotions and the sex was hot as hell. What more could I ask for? The only downside was it got a bit wordy in areas but overall an excellent read. Highly recommend this one.

    11. A few pages in, and I was worried. When I read "That night, the violence of the storm raging outside lost to the fierce passion we created", I thought I had found a book full of Cheetos. I fretted that the reviews I read had missed the mark. The language was kind of simple, and, well, I really wasn't all that vested in the characters. I knew where the story was going (it's an obvious theme). It was a slow startAnd then. I looked up from my book and realize somewhere along the line, I had gone al [...]

    12. 4 Stars! But Gosh, CupidReallyYou May be Cute but Really."So in this one cupid put's the MC's and me into ContemplationBig Time! This Book is an Intriging Triangle of Love That Transported Me Into The Sweetest Heart & Brain Most Frustrating Contemplations in Romances Ever! ROUGH START, BUTG, IN THE END ~ I LOVED IT!!"

    13. Is there anything sweeter than your first true love? Or anything more heart breaking than that first love not playing out as you'd hoped? The Way Back by Carter Quinn covers this beautifully. What could have been an overload of angst has been handled perfectly with an under current of sweet and really funny humour which balances out the angst perfectly.Jason, Eric and Riley are college buddies. Best buddies. BUT Riley fancies Eric who is straight. Apparently. Then one night Eric takes things in [...]

    14. A very enjoyable read. This book could have veered off course and become a soap opera, but somehow the author kept it from going overboard. It had just the right amount of angst, humor and feels to keep me intrigued. The blurb sets out the straightforward plot line. Riley at times appears to be completely oblivious to the fact that Eric treated him like dirt in college, and he insists that the man was the love of his life and has ruined him for future relationships. His new romance with his othe [...]

    15. 4.5 stars from me. I wanted to smack them all really hardwhat IS it with men and not communicating!! At different times in the story, I called each of them a douchebag of them more than once, and those of you that have read the story, you'll know who I mean. My note on page 68 read 'Jase loves you, you douchebag, even at the cost of his own happiness'. On page 77, I made a couple of notes 'but it's OK for you to destroy Jase's feelings, you bastard' AND 'but Jase is in love with you, you Dick!!' [...]

    16. I enjoyed this, but I have to say that Riley kind of got on my last nerve a little. I mean honestly! I wanted to slap some sense into him most of the time. I get that he was hurt before, but that didn't give him the right to hurt Jason as much as he did. but then Jason DID push him towards Eric, so I guess it was just one big ol' mess! I loved Jason from the start, so I screamed my head off at one particular point and refused to forgive Riley for several - maybe more - pages. But it was still we [...]

    17. Love triangle between two brothers and their best friend. I praise the author choosing such a difficult theme. The three young men have a big ZERO in self-awareness. They really just feel, act, react without understanding their own motive or each other's. They are very young. Each of them has a high amount of self-pity, and it is known for preventing people to see what's in front of them. The emotional journey of the three men did not move me, and I found them self-indulgent in their pain. Howev [...]

    18. Good read, I really felt with Riley, poor guy. Somewhere in between I was sceptical that they would get back together, but in the end it worked out. After finishing it I just realized that I would have loved to read a bit more about Riley's and Jason's life outside of their relationship.

    19. Now if this isn’t a convoluted story of emotions then I don’t know what is. Three men, two brothers and one caught in the middle. Three men who were all friends in high school until one starts going out with the other and then inevitably one will be left out - ouch! I must admit my head hurt at times just trying to fathom out what the heck these three were playing at, but that made it a thoroughly entertaining read from beginning to end.Riley has just started dating Jason and it looks as tho [...]

    20. The book wasn't poorly written and I did feel compelled to finish it. Those are the reasons why I gave this 2 instead of 1 stars. I hated the MC Riley. I hated the brother Eric. I didn't like the best friend Melissa. (view spoiler)[In my opinion, Riley was a despicable human being running back and forth between the brothers. Having sex with one and then showing up at the other's house with "still-swollen-from-his-brother's-dick-and-kisses lips" and feeling up Eric is just gross and awful. The fa [...]

    21. My second book by Mr. Quinn and I am impressed. This story is a 180 from the first, but just as good. I am going to find it very hard to wait for more of his stories. Riley Evans is caught between the Walker brothers, Jason and Eric. The three became steadfast friends, but when Riley falls for Eric, everything changes. It changes more when Eric dumps Riley and marries a girl from their high school. Riley is devastated. He was hurt so badly that for the next 6 years, he has let no one near his he [...]

    22. The story was not bad, but not good either. It felt amateurish at best. To top it off it was filled with a variety of unlikeable characters.Eric is the biggest asshole ever, I hate that the author tried to force a reconciliation between them. They apparently loved each other, I totally disagree action speaks louder than words. Mind you Eric never did apolagise to Jason. But what really made me hate the story was how Jason the one that gets cheated one gets blamed, and how Riley tries to justify h [...]

    23. Loved it!! I swung from loving the MCs to wanting to smack them but they were beautifully flawed and the HEA was fantastic. I laughed, I cried, I cursed Eric to hell (because I knew exactly what he was up to in the nightclub back at college and I cheered when Jase beat his nose in), and I yelled at Riley to use his brain instead of his dick.

    24. aaaaaaww. (more to come when I get around to actually turning on my computer. But I will say this: I laughed, I cried, I railed, and I fell in love. Even, a little bit, with Eric. Please oh please, can he and Mitch maybe get a Happily? Even just a HFN? Maybe soon?)

    25. This was an enjoyable read full of interesting characters. I had read Carter’s short story, “In The Crease” and was looking forward to this, his first novel. The story begins by introducing the reader to Riley and Jason, who are in a fairly new relationship that is comfortable and progressing nicely – until a phone call to Riley from his ex from six years prior. The ex, Eric, had rather suddenly left Riley for a woman, and Riley had never quite gotten over his feelings for Eric. Eric is [...]

    26. Honestly, I wasn't entirely certain how I felt about this book. There was Eric, Riley, Jason and the crazy-assed dysfunctional love triangle, or lovewell I don't know what the hell you would call it really. Riley loves Eric, Jason loves Riley, Eric, well Eric loves himself, the douche, and Jason and Eric are brothers. You see? Boggles the mind a bit! By the time Eric makes his lolly-gagging way back to Riley (Years after leaving him for a woman! Yes, a woman! Gasps! Bastard. :) Riley and Jason a [...]

    27. This book will not be for everyone, but I was sure in the mood for something like this :D As I started to read this, I was really pleased with how well the author captured the daily intimacies between Jason and Riley. As a reader, this drew me to them as a couple and I just really wanted good things for them. The washing the dog scene just made me all warm and fuzzy. Then the story moved into the drama, secrets, and indiscretions - this is where some readers may be turned off by the story. I suck [...]

    28. I had read Carter Quinn's short stories and really liked them so I was really looking forward to this novel. I was not disappointed. The story of Riley and Jason and Eric was a bit of a roller-coaster ride and even involved some throwing up! As the story begins, Riley and Jason are dating - six years after they had last seen each other in college. When all three had been friends in college, Eric and Riley ended up having an affair that Eric then ran out on and broke Riley's heart. Just as Riley [...]

    29. This book and its author have certainly impressed me. The themes tackled are among my least favourite ones and difficult to satisfyingly develop in general. By the end, I was happy with how the triangle had been resolved, as I wanted so much a truly happy ending for Jason who greatly deserved it, and Riley who had somewhat atoned for his hurtful actions. The emphasis on 'somewhat' related to my belief that the story needed to show a bit more how their relationship consolidated post-reconciliatio [...]
