Paul Kidd is a wonderful, fresh voice in fantasy - and perhaps because all of his recent books have been self-published, they have retained that sense of originality, and have not been editted to fit into a specific niche.     2. Another amazing book by Paul Kidd. At this point I really shouldn't doubt it. But I did. When I started this book I didn't think I was going to like it. It was slow in the beginning and hard to follow just what was supposed to be going on (for me anyway). However, now that I've finished it I realize that it had to start that way to help you understand the main characters and their perspective.
